The Programs
Four live-in programs ran under the Total Warrior name over twenty-three years, all teaching the same curriculum at different lengths and in different terrain.
Every program taught Rick Tew’s Martial Science — nine areas of focus across five ranking levels — and differed only in duration, location and how much outdoor work it included.

What they had in common
All four took complete beginners alongside experienced martial artists, on the reasoning that experience in one system rarely transfers across all nine areas. All four trained outdoors as a matter of principle rather than novelty. And all four ran on the same five-day structure: ninjutsu and weapons, cross training, the mental curriculum, street combat, then full-contact application.
